Calling All Kids!
It’s Christmas Time with Dickie Bird at Walkerton’s Victoria Jubilee Hall.
On Saturday morning, November 17 I’ll be putting on my Dickie Bird hat and performing a special kids’ concert featuring songs from the new ‘It’s Christmas Time’ CD along with magic tricks for plenty of interactive fun!
The doors will open around 10:00 am with the show at 10:30. Victoria Jubilee Hall is located at 111 Jackson Street South a block south of the main downtown corner.

I’ll be joined by Rob McLean to present the debut ‘Anticipating Christmas’ CD release show at the Victoria Jubilee Hall in Walkerton on Friday, November 16 at 7:30 pm.
We’ll be playing all the songs from the album and it’ll be a hoot! Rob’s a funny guy, as well as a great piano player, so there’ll be some laughs and special surprises in store.
The Victoria Jubilee Hall is a fantastic venue to see and hear a show 
– it seats 300, sightlines are excellent as are the acoustics. Originally built in 1897, this proud building was saved from the wrecking ball a hundred years later in 1997. It stands as a testament to the efforts of community volunteers who worked tirelessly to restore the structure to her historic beauty. http://www.vjhall.on.ca/

If you look at the covers of the Christmas CDs you’ll see one of the paintings I originally did for Christmas cards. I could cut them into strips and put To:…. and From:…. and use them on gifts.
Here’s one I left intact i.e. fairly large, and gave to my mother-in-law Gladys Jacklin in 2004. You’ll see Santa riding the sky on his sleigh pulled by eight little reindeer plus Rudolph with his shiny nose at the front.

Dickie Bird is the stage name adopted by Canadian musician Richard Knechtel for his children’s shows. He has been entertaining family audiences since 1982 performing 150 –200 dates a year. A skilled musician, magician and songwriter, Dickie Bird quickly forms a bond with his young audience and delights them every time out!
This is the fourth Dickie Bird release on Knechtel’s Greentree Music label and an album that’s sure to be a family favourite when ‘It’s Christmas Time’.
